Before there was a foundation, there was a costume, a kind heart, and a very unusual DoorDash delivery.

On April 24, 2022, ABC13 reporter Rita Garcia caught up with Timothy Glover, a League City corporate trainer who had started doing something that stopped people in their tracks: delivering food orders dressed as a superhero. He called himself Dash Gordon. The name clicked naturally, “Dash” from DoorDash, and the character was inspired by The Flash.

The costume started as a way to connect. Timothy and his wife began DoorDashing together after she experienced a health scare, turning a hard season into something they could face side by side. He figured a bright red suit might make people smile at the door. He figured right. Of ten deliveries, nine customers came to the door just to see him.

But Timothy was not in it for the tips.

When a young single mother posted in a local Facebook group that she was struggling to buy diapers and wipes for her one-year-old, Dash Gordon answered. He collected donations from neighbors and showed up in costume with everything she needed, diapers, wipes, and extra funds to carry her through the weekend. He did it again for another woman in a similar situation.

“The first person who reached out was a young single mother and she said, ‘Look, I need some help,’” he told Rita Garcia on camera.

When ABC13 asked what drove him to go beyond the deliveries, Timothy was clear about where his focus had shifted. He had plans to visit children’s hospitals, to show up for families in need, and to use the Dash Gordon persona to put real smiles on real faces.

That conviction became the Dash Gordon Foundation, officially established in February 2023. This early ABC13 segment captures the seed of everything: one man who decided his superpower was showing up.
