In early 2022, Tim and his wife Natalie received devastating news. Natalie was in stage five kidney failure. Faced with this frightening reality, Tim was determined to lift her spirits and give her something to look forward to.
He decided to take Natalie on a dream vacation. To fund it, he began delivering food through DoorDash. It seemed like a practical solution, but something was missing. The work felt hollow without human connection: door after door, transaction after transaction, with barely a word exchanged.
Tim knew there had to be a better way to do this, a way that honored his mission of spreading joy even in the hardest moments.
First delivery as Dash Gordon, April 18, 2022
Then, in late March 2022, Tim had what he called "a wacky idea." He bought a Flash costume and rebranded himself as Dash Gordon, a superhero food deliverer who brought more than just meals to people's doors.
Combining the bold persona with clever promotion on social media, the anticipation built quickly. Tim Said "On April 18, 2022, I ventured out on my first night and caused a huge stir... Suddenly, people came to the door just to greet me."
What had been a lonely side hustle became something magical. Customers laughed, photos were taken, stories were shared. Dash Gordon had arrived, and the community was already falling in love.

Word spread fast. Dash Gordon quickly became a household name in the community, a local sensation whose acts of kindness resonated far beyond food delivery. Tim's unique approach drew people together and sparked genuine joy wherever he went.
This small act grew into something far greater than anyone anticipated. The Dash Gordon Foundation was born, now a thriving haven for individuals with disabilities and their families, bringing joy and a sense of belonging through extraordinary events and community programs.
From humble beginnings on a DoorDash app, today, Dash Gordon has become a guiding light, transforming lives one act of kindness at a time.
Going door-to-door in costume, May 2022
The turning point came in late May 2022 when Tim responded to a plea on Facebook from a single mother struggling to feed her 2-year-old son. Moved by her situation, Tim replied: "Dash Gordon to the rescue."
The following day, dressed as Dash, he went door to door in his neighborhood, asking for donations. Despite some puzzled looks, his neighbors pitched in, allowing him to buy diapers, wipes, and food, which he delivered in full costume.
Word of his good deed quickly spread. The City of League City invited Dash to read at a children's story hour and later filmed a documentary about his efforts. That documentary went on to win a Savvy Award for excellence in government communications, and requests for Dash started pouring in.
The Dash Chronicles, YouTube series with Ben Waxman
Sarah's House, a Pasadena shelter for women escaping domestic violence, reached out for Dash's help in bringing smiles back to those who had faced tragic situations.
Tim invited his longtime friend Ben Waxman to record the interaction, and from that collaboration, The Dash Chronicles was born. The YouTube series shone a spotlight on the positive impact Dash was making across the community, one story at a time.
What had started as a spontaneous act of goodwill was now a documented movement, capturing hearts and inspiring others to get involved.

Dash Gordon's story caught the attention of major local media. Features ran in The Houston Chronicle, Galveston Daily News, FOX26, and ABC , bringing the foundation's mission to an ever-wider audience.
While considering his next move, Dash saw a news story about a small event for the special needs community. It was the usual uninspired affair: a stuffy gym, folding chairs, and pizza.
That moment of frustration would prove to be the spark for the foundation's most defining chapter yet. Dash knew he could do so much better, and he was about to prove it.
The inaugural Winter Formal, Kemah Gardens
After witnessing the underwhelming state of events for the special needs community, Tim turned to his wife Natalie and asked a simple but powerful question: "What can we do to make these individuals feel special?"
Natalie's answer was immediate: a winter formal. The idea was magical in its simplicity. Give individuals with disabilities the full red-carpet experience they deserved.
The inaugural dance at Kemah Gardens quickly filled all 173 RSVP slots within hours. The overwhelming response sent a clear message: the community had been waiting for exactly this.

The success of the Winter Formal drew the attention of the President of the Associated Credit Union of Texas, who reached out to help transform this growing movement into something permanent. In February 2023, The Dash Gordon Foundation was officially co-founded by Tim and Natalie Glover and Ben and Jenn Waxman.
The momentum was unstoppable. Soon after, the foundation hosted an '80s dance that drew over 300 attendees, nearly double the Winter Formal's capacity. They then launched The Dash Gordon Heroes Market, where individuals with disabilities proudly sold their own handmade creations at a local farmer's market.
With each event, the foundation continued to expand its impact, inspiring hope and showing the world the incredible potential of the special needs community.
'A Night to Remember' pageant, October 2023
Inspiration struck at a Miss League City pageant, and the team decided to host an all-female special needs pageant of their own. Produced by Shelly Garrido, the inaugural 'A Night to Remember' in October 2023 surpassed every expectation.
Ben's emotional interviews with parents played as participants walked the runway. "There wasn't a dry eye in the house," Dash recalled. The evening crowned four queens: Cadyn Cisneros as Miss Texas Royalty Ultimate Queen, alongside Annalee Hass, Kadence Rodrigue, and AnnMarie Buckle as Miss Texas Royalty Queens.
For the families in attendance, it was a night they would never forget. Cadyn's father, Fidencio Cisneros, captured it perfectly: "Seeing her crowned still feels like a dream."

One of the most powerful things Dash Gordon does is take the time to truly know the people he serves, and then help them shine in ways they never imagined possible.
Nathan is a young man whose life has been touched by the Dash Gordon Foundation in a profound way. His mother, Elizabeth Ellisor, says he's come to trust and admire Dash as a true friend. "He's a nice guy, but he's also my best buddy!" Nathan said, and the admiration in his eyes whenever Dash is near is unmistakable.
At every dance the Foundation hosted, Nathan was by Dash's side, fascinated by the spinning wheels of his turntables. Dash noticed. After one particular event, he called Elizabeth with an idea: "I got him a mixer, and I want to teach him how to DJ." Over the next few months, the two spent hours together on the turntables.
"He was easy to teach because he was like a sponge," Dash recalled. One day, he came to Elizabeth with a quiet certainty: "I think he's ready." On July 27, DJ TermiNATE debuted to a crowd of adoring fans. He was a star that night, people high-fiving, shouting his name, the smile never leaving his face.
"That's part of what makes Dash so special: he takes the time to learn about and understand our kids."
